When I see all these deposits, I’m cumming!
Haha, Hey guys
I’m currently reading Total Recall – A Arnold Schwarzenegger Bio Book. Great book so far hence the title of this post!
Passive Deposits Piling up
Oh man sometimes I love when I log into our online banking. At the beginning of the week we got our first deposit from the private investment. Today I signed on and BAM 500$ I completely forgot about.
It was a bonus offer from Royal Bank to switch our mortgage over that they said we would receive in a couple weeks. We also now pay $5.99 per month in service fees vs the $10.99 we used to pay. Our mortgage rate went from 2.89% to 2.59% too! Only disadvantage is Rbc doesn’t offer a mortgage amortization schedule which First National did. But I’ll gladly take all these perks any day.
We are seeing the increase in dividend’s already from all the capital we allocated, although we missed a lot of dividend dates. (short term) Every bit of passive income we receive gets re-invested through a drip program or additional purchases. Each deposit really brings us closer to the dream. Financial Independence and living on a lake, Reeling em in!
Glass Half-Full
I used to want to be a millionaire but now I can actually visualize it. Although that’s based on our current investment’s in 30 years while in a strong market with no other deposits. (I still don’t know what average rbc uses to get these #’s) Who would look at Avg market or poor market? I’m a glass half full kind of guy – unless its a pint. Its probably empty and due for a refill =)
Its refreshing to see the million dollar figure, but of course I’m not going to stop depositing and making purchases. How boring would the site get? Ill be aiming for a 30 yr figure of 5 mil plus now, I would of never thought that. But it go’s to show ya AIM BIG.
If your a glass half empty person and you wanna go by the average market then that 5 mil would probably be just north of $2.5 mil in 30 years. I think that will be alright and I could probably make due. =0 I would love to be free of financial worries come 50, so 16 years from now.
I will most likely be bald and wrinkly, but I think I still would look good when my lotus pulls up rims still spinning! haha just kidding
Dollar by Dollar, Bit by Bit the numbers keep increasing. Boy do I love dividend Investing. Do you guys track what your investments will be worth 10, 20, 30 years in the future?

Hey I’m Rob, creator of Passive Canadian Income.
In 2011 me and my wife had almost $60,000 in debt and a negative $7,000 Net Worth. Through hard work and financial education we paid all that off. Now we are focusing on increasing our Passive Income Streams to make the money work for us. Whereas I am interested in having a sizable savings and income for retirement … I am not really fixated on a million dollars. Whatever it takes to generate a nice income.
More then the destination, I plan on enjoying the journey 🙂
Hey geek. Thats true but the amount of capital you have will greatly improve your income. The million dollar mark is just a milestone along the way!
I started tracking my net worth about ten years ago. At the beginning, it was pretty boring, but as I start to accumulate more assets, the numbers started to look motivating and it encouraged me to save more and do more with my money.
It took me about ten years to accumulate my first million and now I am super excited to work towards my second million.
I would love to see your numbers ten years from now. We can have a chat over beers? The one with more $$$ pays the bill lol.
Haha we definally could Leo. Im in the gta too! Sounds like you will be buying!
I am in too …
PCI, as I was reading your post, I was reminded by a quote by Michelangelo. He said, “the greater danger for most of us is not lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” Nothing wrong with being a half-full kind of guy. Nothing wrong with being a glass-half full kind of guy. Crossing fingers for $5 million or more in 30 years.
Haha didnt know that quote was from him but they use that in motivational vids I watch all the time. Thanks for the added knowledge
The more you know…… (star shoots across screen)
Great progress and thanks for sharing! It makes such a big difference when you can clearly graph your progress and see the trajectory you’re on. 5 Million is a great goal and is definitely starting to look feasible. Congrats!
Thanks jay I agree its nice to see the trajectory. Cheerz
1 million is still a lot of money. It is great to have that much invested. L
Hey Pell, I’m not there yet but soon enough
