Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

He see’s you when Your sleeping.

Merry Christmas.

It’s the most wonderful day of the year. I always love Christmas time.

While it can be a costly time of the year with all these gifts – Family, friends, teachers, after school care, bus drivers and even our other babysitter. The smiles on their faces make it all worth it.

We already had our Christmas on Sunday with my side of the family and the kids got spoiled. Our daughter has gotten outnumbered with unicorn stuff while our son got a couple board games and some more Lego. (Always fun)

Tomorrow we get to somewhat relax (well maybe not relax, enjoy the chaos that is Christmas morning) with the kids. Coffee – Stockings, breakfast and then gifts. Play a bit then off to the next one. It will be a busy couple of days, but before we know it 2020 will be here. Time fly’s.

I have officially got everything bought and wrapped, and look forward to placing everything under the tree tonight. Then eat some of those cookies, chase my beer with that warm glass of milk the kids left out and hopefully go to bed with Ms Claus.

– No kids will see mommy kissing Santa Claus tonight.

Blog

I have officially signed up for another year doing this online stuff. The new host (affiliate link) is one of the fastest out there and hopefully you notice the difference. There are times when I get writers block and have no clue what to say and others where I feel like I’m spitting fire. At the end of the day though, I really enjoy doing this and hope I’m helping some of you out there. Being a part of this community surely helps me. It’s great to bounce things off people and learn from each of you.

I know I lost a couple comments on the transition of switching hosts. May asked if I would contribute the extra 14k to our kids resp that is unmatched in our previous post.

  • The resp contribution max limit per kid is 50k.
  • maximum grant per kid is $7,200. $500 per kid per year max
  • So 2.5k per kid for 14 years and 1k on the 15th year will maximize the government grants.
  • Total contributed without grants over that time is 36k

So you are allowed to contribute another 14k per kid but get no government match for it. Doing so early would really compound things.

I personally wouldn’t now, because our tfsa’s and rrsp’s aren’t maxed out. If they were maxed out and I had money sitting around I would. Any advantage we can give our kids in the future is always welcomed.

Conclusion

Well I just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and update you on the transition and commitment to keep on writing in 2020. Thanks for a great 2019.

– From our Family to yours, Have a wonderful Christmas with friends and family.

Eat lots, Drink lots, Say Thanks and Smile often!

Ho Ho Ho!
