Hey Hey Hey!

The sun is shining, the market keeps doing its thing and once again crypto talk has been minimal. This time though we don’t hear much about gamestop, amc etc. Almost feels like things are back to normal….

Life

If you haven’t noticed I have been a little down for awhile with all this covid lock down stuff, but this month things started to open up. People are getting those vaccines left right and centre. Heck I even got my first one this month and I’ve been on the fence about it. Wife’s got her double dose with no symptoms or anything. (pfizer/moderna mix) I got good ol pfizer from shoppers drug mart, a little sore arm on day 2 and I felt tired at night. Not bad at all.

This month we have been taking advantage of all the freedom once again. Me and the wife went for dinner beside the lake one night, we hit up the zoo for fathers day. (Pretty cool tried the Brantford zoo, 1st time there) We just came back from one of our favourite campgrounds (The Pinery) with about 20 of us. Was fantastic seeing them all as some we haven’t seen for over a year now.

Life has been great.

Alright, Let’s Get To Our June 2021 Passive Income

Raises or Cuts

Unfortunately no raises this month, but on the positive side no cuts! Gotta fill that glass. =)

Total Added Income from Dividend Raises in 2021 – $122.74

13 stocks Dripped in June – sweet!

A less than 10% growth rate but I’m happy with it. We have sold off a lot of those monthly payers, into quarterly payments. The sale of bpy still continues to hurt though, that was a big payment to replace.

Finally got that first xaw drip. Slowly but surely, just $250 a month.

If your interested check out our Previous Dividend Income Reports.

Our Drips (Dividend Reinvestment Program) added $26.16 to our yearly forward dividend’s this month

Other Income

Private Investment Payment – $500.00

Nothing new here, just our regular monthly payment. (I don’t even have to edit this part every month) Steady Eddy…….

Solar Panel Income

In May (We always get paid a month later) our solar panel system generated 1,148 kWh. Since we bring in a fixed rate of 28.8 cents per kilowatt hour, Hydro One deposited $330.91 into our chequing account this month.

Last May the system generated $338.40 Pretty close.

Total Income for 2021 – $1034.49

System Installed January 2018

Total System Cost ——–$32,396.46

Total Income Received ——–$8,521.30

Total June 2021 Passive Income – $ 1,615.83

June 2020 Passive Income – $‭ 1,588.23

Total Passive Income Increase over last year. – $27.60

A little disappointing to see this, but its growth none the less. $1,600 is still pretty dam good, haha =)

passive income totals

Totals For 2021

Dividends Year To Date Total – $3,795.67
Other Passive Income Year to date – $4,567.42
Total Passive Income for 2021 —– $8363.09
Year End Goal – $17,390.71 ——– %48.08

Slightly behind but a huge jump from last month. We should be getting 8.3% a month and with 6 months done we should be at 49.80%. I think at the end of next month will we be ahead of the goal.

Purchases

June 2021 Purchases/ Sales

Interpipeline

We sold off our position in Interpipeline last month. The stock price passed the potential buyout prices and actually had a very minor 1% gain on it. We decided to cash out and redeploy that money. Income lost – $99.84

Bell Canada

We decided to grow our position by adding another 33 shares this added 115.50 to our forward income.

CNR

One of my favourite Canadian dividend growth stocks. We topped up our holding by adding another 19 shares. These added 46.74 in future dividends.

National Bank

One of our smaller positions that I have wanted to grow. This month we did by adding 22 more shares. This added $62.48 in dividends and its only a matter of time before regulators let those banks raise their dividends again.

You can read about those moves here.

Xaw Etf

Added 9 more xaw to the portfolio as well.

In total we added $128.92 to that forward income with new purchases/sales last month. Not bad at all.

Financial Goals Update

Charities

Increase Dividends by $1,680.19 this year. (bringing our forward income from dividends to $8,329.13 a year)

  • With New Purchases, Drips, and Dividend Raises we continued to grow the size of our dividend Portfolio. Total increased so far in 2021 is $649.47 38.65% of our goal.

Etf Monthly Minimum Purchase of $250

  • This month we added 9 more units of xaw etf.
  • Questrade* is great because it offers free etf trades and cheaper stock trading options than most Canadian brokers. $250.00 a month would kill us if we needed to pay high trading fees.
  • * Note the questrade link is a affiliate link and at no additional cost to you, I would get a little payment if you were to sign up. You could get $50 in free trades by using my link though.

June 2021 Passive Income Conclusion

A fantastic month on all fronts. Life’s good and the dividends keep rolling in. While I’m behind on some goals due to some not so cheap purchases, (playground & California blinds) there’s still plenty of time in the year. I hope you all had a wonderful month as well.

cheers!

What have you been up to in June? Are you on track with your goals?

YOLO – You only live once. That’s bullshit, you only die once. Go live your best life. =)

  1. Congrats on another great month. YOY growth was a bit lackluster for me as well (less then 10%), but I’m happy to see okay growth. Nice series of purchases too. Keep up the good work! 🙂

    • Rob says:

      thanks Dynasty

Too much selling effects some months, but benefits others. (next month) The portfolio looks better to me though, so the growth should be better moving forward.

      have a great day
      cheers

  2. Another solid month.

Curious about the private investment plan – I know it’s for family only – but what is the company? Are you planning on adding more to it when your term is up?

    • Rob says:

      hey Jordan
      thanks

Yeah its a family thing. I think its actually illegal for me to advertise it, from what I understand. The company name is just a corp with a bunch of numbers. We invest in fibre optics, foreclosures (flips and rentals here in Canada but mostly in the states) and also are building a vacation resort in Belize. I think its 3/4 finished.

I have really been thinking of growing our position in the future. Most likely when our mortgage comes up for renewal we will pull out some more equity for this and max out our tfsas. But we will have to pay capital gains when our total 50k investment is paid back, so got to watch what the govt does in regards to capital gains in the coming years.

      cheers man.

  3. Solids numbers as usual Rob! Great companies, few changes from 2020, but 2021 is better! Keep up the good work my fellow investor friend! 🙏💰😃

    • Rob says:

yeah I think overall the portfolio looks better and is stronger moving forward.
2021 should be a great year
      cheers

  4. SavyFox says:

    Hi Rob
As long as there is YoY growth, the compounding machine gets faster and faster. Throw in some DRIPS and it will be huge over time. Your passive income streams are very well diversified and robust.
Keep it up and all the best.
    Cheers

    • Rob says:

      hey Fox, thx

I like the diversity of the streams for sure. You are right the drips add up. Cant wait to see where us and everyone else will be in 5 years. cheers

  5. Just shy of your passive income goal at the halfway point… seems like the annual goals are well within striking distance, Rob. Hopefully, some of the recent portfolio improvements you’ve been making will start to play out and you’ll rock it in 2H21.
Good progress in the meantime. You had quite a few drips this month. Gotta love that.
Too bad about the 0 raises… that just means more for next month, right!
Glad to hear life is coming out of lockdown for you… just in time for the summer. Enjoy it.

    • Rob says:

      hey man

here’s hoping for some raises this month. Not expecting any but hey anything can happen! You are right about the goal, a little off but I think we will hit it. Time to check out your progress, Im sure it will continue to be impressive.
      cheers bud

  6. Norm says:

Hey Rob, cheers to the end of lockdowns! Being out at stores or a restaurant without a mask the past little while is so liberating! Looking forward to a restriction free rest of summer.

Looks like a decent month, considering you lost your BPY income and are still up over last year, that’s a solid accomplishment! And seeing that first XAW drip must fill good, you’re slow and steady plan on that one is working. And decent USD dividends.

June was a great dividend month for me as well, even with my loss of BPY accounted for. My second highest total ever which was expected. I personally shoot for 4 new record high dividend months every year as DRIPs, raises and new investments work their magic.

    • Rob says:

stores without masks? wow thats just a dream here. Our kids started soccer last wk and spectators didnt need to wear masks, yesterday we got a email that we now do… arg! so annoying, we are outside spread amongst a soccer field….

The xaw drip really does feel good, such a slow growing position and yet here we are already. =)

Congrats on all your success as well. Beginning months of the quarters has now surpassed the last which is interesting to see. Im planning on starting a mfc position once again if it stays at these prices and will boost these months once again.

keep it up Norm, sounds like your killing it as well!
      cheers

  7. Doug says:

Good job. You have a few knocking on the door of $100 payments. Keep it up.
