  1. Hey Buddy

Great post – I agree with almost all of it 😛

I don’t believe in Karma – but I do believe in being a good person – and in the end it’s all the same. I used to organize hockey pools through my work where 50% would go to the winner and 50% to a charity of my choice. I usually did the humane society. One year I was able to write them a $850 cheque just from the donation…that was awesome.

I was looking into the big brother program as well right before my daughter was born – and it’s something I’ll probably look at again once my son is a bit older. Keep up the great work.

      Yeah basically the same.
That is awesome man! I have never given a charity that much in one time. That must of felt incredible to hand over. Respek!

Seems like you would be a great fit for big brothers. Im sure they would love to tag along to jets game with ya sometime too!

      Cheers man!

  2. Hey Rob. Very nice. My mom used to say you get back twice as much as you give. Similar to what you say in your conclusion. Tom

Giving back to our community is definitely something that I hope to do more of one day when I reached FIRE. Would love to volunteer at big brothers some day and host some sort of financial courses in high schools or community centres.

Thanks for donating to support my fundraising campaign last year.

      Hey Leo.

Np, its a great cause and I like your blog so I had to support. Like you mentioned in that post you already volunteer alot of time for that cause. So good on ya! Speaking in schools would be great. Our blogs is possibly the first step in that direction. Hopefully we help some people.

      Cheers Leo!

  4. I haven’t really done much giving back. I want to focus on growing myself and my business so that I have more to give when I’m done.

No problem, the real Warren Buffett approach!
Wish you all the best, so you can make it rain in the future.
      cheers

  5. Giving back is definitely important whether it be time or money. I certainly plan to spend a good portion of my time after I retire volunteering. If my blog ever is profitable, I plan to donate 50% of those profits to various charities as well.

One of the benefits of having more money and time is that you can give back in a bigger way.
